nurse, teacher, researcher
I’m a Registered Nurse, teacher and researcher.
Latterly employed at the University of Worcester, I am now Honorary Reader at Brunel University of London
I am available for tutorial and other academic support. You can find me on Superprof or contact me directly. I can help with course content, assignments, proofreading, editing and referencing.

I started my training (it was training back then) at Redhill hospital in 1987, and after qualifying worked as a staff nurse, then charge nurse in Intensive Therapy and Coronary Care at East Surry Hospital and Hereford County Hospital. After a period as Ward Manager on a medical ward at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, I moved into education at the University of the West of England where I was course leader for the BSc (Hons) adult nursing course.
I moved to the University of Worcester in 2013 where I was Principal Lecturer and Head of Department, leaving in August 2024.

My research is in the field of ethics and regulation. I have published over 30 book chapters and peer-reviewed papers some of which are detailed here Selected Outputs. I am on the editorial board of the journal Nursing Ethics. I am currently working on a third edition of my co-authored book, Becoming a Nurse.
